Press Release – 08 August 2010

Exciting developments for Adventure Tourism in Wanaka.

U-Fly Wanaka have purchased a brand new aircraft, arriving July 2010, especially designed for U-Fly Wanaka’s unique tourism activity.  As well as the new plane U-Fly Wanaka are also in the process of setting up a new, well branded office base at Wanaka Airport.

It has taken 3 years of research with U-Fly clients and supporters, to obtain the right piece of equipment for this specialised market. “We have chosen an aircraft called an Echo Classic De-luxe.  It is well known in the aviation world but barely heard of in other sectors of business NZ.  In addition, we are moving office to number 1 Spitfire lane, Wanaka Airport” says Ruth Presland, Managing Director of U-Fly Wanaka.

“This new development is sure to catch the eye and continue to build our brand awareness, progress is going well on creating a fantastic fully themed design, with a grand opening scheduled for November 2010”

Tecnam Aircraft are manufactured in Naples, Italy, which have been making planes since 1948. With over 3000 aircraft flying, they have the largest fleet in the world, with the highest safety record, due to their design.  They are powered by Rotax, motors made by Bombardier, who started making these motors in 1928.

With such a long history behind these two state of the art teams, the Tecnam is the most environmentally advanced light sports aircraft in the world, incredibly quiet and flying on un-leaded mo-gas.

The team at U-Fly understand the importance of keeping our country clean and welcoming for our guests. The Tecnam is not only a leader in low level CO2 emissions but also meets international standards in aircraft noise abatement-test showing the aircraft flying does not register above the surrounding ambient noise.

U-Fly’s vision is to be one of New Zealand’s ‘must visit’ Adventure Tourism Companies.  Thanks support from tourists and travel industry we now offer another top reason why our guests should make Wanaka a must see destination in New Zealand.

To assist with brand recognition U-Fly Ltd, now have two trading names.  U-Fly Adventure Rides (www.u-flywanaka.co.nz) offers a hands on experience to passing travellers to experience a scenic flight while taking the controls themselves.
